Why Google Analytics is Important
Google Analytics (GA) helps you measure how visitors interact with your website. You’ll know how many people visit, where they come from, which pages they view, and how long they stay. This data helps you improve your content and marketing strategies.
Step 1: Create a Google Analytics Account
Go to Google Analytics, sign in with your Google account, and create a new property for your WordPress website.
Step 2: Install a Google Analytics Plugin
The easiest way is to use a plugin. Two popular ones are:
- MonsterInsights – beginner-friendly and packed with features.
- Site Kit by Google – free official plugin that connects GA directly.
Step 3: Connect & Verify
After installing the plugin, follow the setup wizard. Sign in with your Google account, select the GA property, and allow access. Once verified, your site will start sending traffic data to Google Analytics.
Step 4: Check Your Reports
Log in to Google Analytics to see your traffic. Key reports include:
- Real-Time Users
- Traffic Sources (where visitors come from)
- Top Pages Viewed
- Devices (desktop vs mobile)
💡 Tip: Regularly check your analytics to find out which posts perform best and double down on that type of content.
